This cocktail was created by the legendary bartender Dale DeGroff, back when he was working at the Rainbow Room in New York in the early 1990s. If you are not a gin drinker, the Fitzgerald cocktail is a simple, refreshing gin cocktail that's a great way to ease you into gin drinks.
INGREDIENTS
FOR ONE COCKTAIL
- 40 mL Original SIP Dry gin
- 20 mL Simple Syrup
- 20 mL Lemon Juice
- 2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
- 1 cup (250 mL) ice
- 1 Lemon Peel or Lemon Zest
For two cocktails just double up the ingredients.
DIRECTIONS
Add the gin, simple syrup, lemon juice and Angostura Bitters to the large cup of your cocktail shaker.
Add the ice to the shaker and shake.
Use the cocktail strainer to strain into a coupe or cocktail glass, over ice and garnish with lemon peel or lemon zest.
