Classic Bees's Knees

Classic Bees's Knees

The actual origin of this cocktail is debatable, but most accounts point to the 1920’s era and France.

The lemon juice was a common addition to gin sours, and the honey syrup was either an original twist on the classic or a way to mask lower quality gin.

The Bee’s Knees sounds just as fun as it actually tastes.

INGREDIENTS

FOR ONE COCKTAIL

  • 50 mL Original SIP Dry gin
  • 20 mL Lemon Juice
  • 20 mL Orange Juice
  • 2 Teaspoons Honey
  • 1 cup (250 mL) ice
  • 1 Lemon Peel or Lemon Zest

For two cocktails just double up the ingredients.

DIRECTIONS

Add the gin, honey, lemon juice and orange juice to the large cup of your cocktail shaker.
Add the ice to the shaker and stir until honey is dissolved.
Use the cocktail strainer to strain into a martini glass and garnish with lemon peel or lemon zest.
